Having grown up in the fruit & vegetable business, I’m a fourth generation Greengrocer. I loved the early morning rises and working alongside my Dad in the Old Covent Garden (now a tourist attraction). We owned a Greengrocer shop, where me and my sister Joanna would help out.

The initial plan for me was to leave school and pursue a career in the family business, however to my Dad’s dismay, I left to travel and became a BASI Qualified Ski Instructor, what a life!

In 1990, I had finished the ski season in Val D’Isere and the summer season in Ibiza and I decided it was time to come back to London. I had no form of transport to get around so on a Friday my Dad kindly suggested I used one of the company vans as it was not being used but 2am Monday morning comes around and my phone rings, it’s my Dad! I needed to come to work with the van as one of the drivers hadn’t turned up. And as they say, the rest is history.

I am now hoping that one day my two sons Callum and Sonny will become the fifth generation.
