I started in the fruit and veg game as a saturday boy in a Greengrocers in Muswell Hill at the age of fourteen- I stayed there until I was twenty, eventually becoming the manager of the shop.

I then left the trade and went into print for many years. I was brought back into the trade by my old school friend, Martin Wheeler. His family had a fruit and vegetable distribution business and I worked my way up over the years to eventually become their buyer.

In 2014 Martin and I joined forces with Paul and Danny Murphy at YesChef! It was an exciting new challenge.

I can now be found in the Buyers Walk from Sunday – Saturday 10PM-6AM, waiting for the lorries to turn up from the sea and air ports, to get the first pick of the freshest produce delivered nightly.

I take great pride in hand selecting the produce for our customers, I make sure everything is ripe and ready to eat.

Yes Chef are going from strength to strength and I love being a part of it.
